Road Construction Update

as of August 19, 2008

road open sign only

Yes, the church is open and you can

get here from there!

Until further notice, the only way to get to Orchard is up Farmington Road north from 13 Mile Road.

They are currently putting a second layer of asphalt on Farmington Road, between 13 Mile and Walnut Lane. You may experience a delay in getting onto Farmington from 13 Mile as the trucks and workers do their job. Drive slowly and carefully around the construction workers.

Open During Road Construction.

Detour here to find relief from the bumpy road of life!

It’s been a month now… but it could have been yesterday, as feelings continue to ebb and flow. You forget how everything can change with just one phone call. “Come to the hospital,” sets aside everything else as you respond to the call of family.

My sister Shirley and Bill were in Myrtle Beach with their kids.  I had just come home to do a wedding after spending three days in Jackson with Mom. Aunt Sil would stay for the next two days… we didn’t like to leave Mom alone at night.

Little did I know, when she hugged me, said “I love you.  Thank you for staying with me,”...

A Church of Excellence!

In early 2001, Orchard Church was selected as a "Church of Excellence" following a 2 year study funded by a Lilly Foundation Grant.  Scholars, pastors, religious journalists, religion professors and denomination leaders were asked to recommend the "best of the best" churches.  This study is chronicled in Paul Wilkes book "Excellent Protestant Churches: A Guide to Best Places and Practices"
